Moberg, Lucille E. (Treichel) (24 NOV 1929 - 13 APR2017)

Lucille E. Moberg, age 87, passed away peacefully at her home in Medford, on April 13, 2017.

Lucille was born on Nov. 24, 1929 in Wausau, daughter of the late August and Marie Treichel. On Nov. 9, 1948, she married Lloyd Moberg Sr. in Wausau. Lloyd preceded her in death in 1978.

Lucille attended Trinity Lutheran School, where she was baptized and confirmed. She graduated from Wausau High School in 1948. In 1973, Lloyd and Lucille bought and operated the Country Inn Bar in Medford until she sold in 1990. She then worked in the office at Hall Distributing Co., retiring in 1996. Lucille loved her children and extended family. She was very proud of what they each accomplished and felt she did a great job raising them. She was an excellent cook and baker. Her many talents included crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She enjoyed reading, playing scrabble and other games, and working on puzzles. Her other passions included gardening (flowers and vegetables), as well as feeding and housing the birds. She valued animals of all kinds, especially her cats. Lucille was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers.

Lucille is survived by her children, Judith Kraft of Appleton, Lloyd Jr. of Stockton, N.J., Robert (Marian) of Appleton, Kevin (Karen) of Medford, Jolaine Braun of Stetsonville, Brian of Medford, Darla (Todd) Pitzke of Stetsonville and David (fiancé Jill Rector) of Dorchester. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; siblings, Luella Mueller of Wausau, Lorraine (Roger) Sagstetter of Wausau, Diane Geisel of Onalaska; sisters and brother-in-law, Joyce Moberg of Marinette, Carol Marcott of Pewaukee and Patricia (Galen) Ellenbecker of Dorchester. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Joanne; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Moberg; brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Diane Treichel; brother-in-law, Frank Mueller; in-laws, Harry and Johanna Moberg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bernadine and Irving Jerabek, Donald Moberg, Clifford and Kathleen Moberg and Robert Marcott.

The family would like to thank the staffs at Aspirus VNA Extended Care, Aspirus Help at Home, and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services who supported mom at home during her illness.

Memorial services were held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Visitation was held at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Private family burial took place at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wausau.

In lieu of flowers, memorial funds have been established at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wausau, and the Taylor County Humane Society of Medford.
