Engel, Violet L. (Stock) (28 SEP 1922 - 15 APR 2017)

Violet L. Engel, 94, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Her funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church (a/k/a: North Green Grove) in the Town of Colby with Pastor Donald J Bruce officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

Family and friends are welcome from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church.

Violet was born on September 28, 1922 in Newton, Wisconsin, to the late Hugo and Viola (Dehne) Stock. The family moved to the Owen and Curtiss area. She later attended the Normal School in Wausau.

She married Otto on December 25, 1943 at St John's Lutheran Church in Withee. She taught school at Eaton Center, Hixon Heights and substituted at Frenchtown schools for 7 years. She was also a housewife and helped with the television business that Otto ran at the farm.

Violet is survived by Connie (Jim) Starr of Colorado, Ronald (Pam) of Arizona, Rita (Randy Budrus) Engel of Withee, Jacquelyn (Wes) Engel-Melander of Colorado; grandchildren Dan (fiancée Ruthie Granger) Starr, Jon Starr, Blake (Jessica) Engel, Travis (friend Annie) Engel, Audrey Nordlof, Kristopher Nordlof, Tim (Tabatha) Melander, Emily Barany. Great-grandchildren Morgan, Kylia, Hailee, Lilly Nordlof, Alaura and Haylie Melander.

Violet is proceeded in death her parents, sisters Edna, Loraine and Gertrude. Sister-in-law Anna Lange, brother-in-laws Bill and Ed Engel, and nephew Delbert.

The family would like to thank Community Care Connections of Wisconsin, St. Joseph's Hospital staff, the Marshfield Clinic and the Owen-Withee Ambulance service for their care.
