Michael Seefeld, formerly of Colby, was recently promoted to the rank of Command
Sergeant Major (CSM E-9) in the United States Army.
He is a Class of 2000 graduate of Colby High School, the son of Cindy Austin,
Plover, and grandson of Troy Austin, Abbotsford.
CSM Seefeld’s current full-time assignment is in the Field Artillery Subject
Matter Expert Cell for the Army National Guard and the Command Sergeant Major
for the 1st Battalion, 120th Field Artillery, 32nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team.
Seefield has a bachelor’s degree in applied business management from Grand
Canyon University and will be a graduate of the United States Army Sergeant
Majors Academy in July, 2017.
He resides in Baraboo with his wife Jessica (Buchholz), who is a paramedic and
Class of 2010 graduate of Colby High School.
