Lang, Marvin E. Jr. (3 JUL 1936 - 15 APR 2017)

Marvin E. Lang Jr., 80, of Woodstock passed away April 15, 2017.

He was born July 3, 1936 in Medford, Wisconsin to Marvin E. and Grace (Patterson) Lang. On June 23, 1962 he married Dorothy Gilkerson.

Marvin worked for ComEd for 39 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Woodstock. He was an American Cribbage Grand Master and a member of the American Cribbage Conference.

He is survived by his children, Marvin (Laura) Lang III and Victoria Lang; grandchildren, Candice (Dan) Nieves and Casey Troyer; great-grandchildren: Alexis, Briana, and Naomi; brother, George (Joyce) Lang; and step-mother, Lulumae Lang.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; daughter-in-law Amy; and siblings, Peggy Scheel and Jules "Dutes" Lang.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, April 19 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.

Visitation will continue from 10 to 11am on Thursday, April 20, until the time of service at 11am at St. John's Lutheran Church, 401 St. John's Road, Woodstock. A luncheon will follow at the church.

Interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park. Memorials may be given in his name to the church. For information call the funeral home at 815-459-1760.
