Franz, William A. (16 AUG 1905 – 6 JUN 1972)

William August Franz, 66, of Abbotsford, died of a coronary attack at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 1972, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, where he had been a patient since Sunday. Funeral services were held June 9 at 2 p.m. at the Alliance Church in Owen. Burial was made at the Riverside Cemetery at Withee, with the Rev. Lester Kringle officiating.

Mr. Franz was born August 16, 1905 in Clark County, Town of Warner, and was married September 4, 1937 in Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), to the former Dorothy Markee, who survives him. In 1940 he moved to Owen, where he worked at the Western Condensary, and for the city of Owen until 1964, when he retired after a coronary attack. He resided in Abbotsford since 1967.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Charles, Abbotsford, and William Jr., Owen; four daughters, Mrs. Lee (Genevieve) Kenyon, Owen; Mrs. Hoard (Beatrice) Rue, Spencer; Mrs. Lester (Carol) Sinette, Harvard, Ill., and Mrs. Gerald (Annette) Anderson, Abbotsford; 17 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Gray and Mrs. Ernest Elmer, Greenwood; Miss Sophie Franz, Owen; four brothers, Karl, Marshfield; Albert & Ferdinand, Greenwood; and August, Perry, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister at the age of 8.
