STRATFORD -- Bernice H. Bohman, 84, of Stratford died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at the Palliative Care Unit at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stratford with the Rev. Thomas Rudolph. St. Joseph's Resurrection Choir will provide the music for the services.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in the town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County. Her grandchildren will serves as the pallbearers.
Visitations will be at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today.
Bernice was born Sept. 3, 1924, in Buffalo, Minn., to George and Edith (Elsenpeter) Geiger. She was a 1942 graduate of Stratford High School.
She was united in marriage to Harvey N. Bohman on March 6, 1943, at St. Joseph's Church. Harvey died March 16, 1996.
After their marriage, they farmed in the town of Frankfort until 1963. They then became owners and operators of Bohman's Bar in Stratford until their retirement in 1981. Bernice worked in the bakery department at Davel's retiring in 2008.
She is survived by one daughter, Debra Chrouser of Stratford; one son, Steven (Jacqueline) Bohman of Gunter, Texas; son-in-law, Harold "Beaner" Bean of Marathon; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is further survived two sisters, Evaleen Haase of Sebring, Fla., and Shirley Schar of Racine.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey; a son, Lawrence Bohman; a daughter, Audrey Bean; two brothers, Joseph and Roy Geiger; and three sisters, Catherine Emon, Leona Emon and Lucille Gosse.
