Shirley Thompson, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), won a first place award for her oil painting, "Mother and Child," at the Marshfield Art Fair, which was held Sunday, June 11, 1972 at the Marshfield Senior High School.

The annual event, sponsored by the Marshfield Art Committee, was host to over 70 artists from Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota.

The Fair provided spectators with the opportunity to view and purchase art work in oil, crafts, photograph, sculpture, graphics and ceramics.
