ROZELLVILLE -- Edward O. Stockheimer, 80, of Rozellville, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at his home in rural Stratford.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Rozellville. The Rev. Arthur Redmond will officiate. Burial of ashes will be in the St. Andrew's Parish Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Edward's grandchildren. Stratford Memorial VFW Post No. 6352 will conduct military honors.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church Thursday. Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home of Marshfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
Edward Otto Stockheimer was born Dec. 23, 1928, at the family farm in Rozellville, a son of Benno and Mary (Wittman) Stockheimer. He attended school at St. Andrew's Parochial School.
He was united in holy marriage July 29, 1953, to Joan Bornbach at St. Andrew's Church in Rozellville. Edward was a paratrooper in the Army and spent his whole life on the family farm.
Edward was a member of St. Andrew's Church and Holy Name Society of St. Andrew, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, cards and football.
Edward is survived by his wife, Joan; 11 children, Rita (Jim) Post, Milladore, Helen (Dan) Zeman, Stratford, Steve (Sandy) Stockheimer, West Salem, Alan Stockheimer, Milladore, David (Kim) Stockheimer, Holmen, Kenneth Stockheimer, Ohio, Sally (Mike) Lang, Marshfield, Laurie (Ralph) Aschebrook, Marshfield, Karen (Ron) Pachniak, Stratford, Barbi (Marty) Moe, La Crosse, and Gary (Melissa) Stockheimer, Neillsville; 25 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and four brothers and sisters, Anthony (Vi) Stockheimer, Mosinee, Joseph (Helen) Stockheimer, Marshfield, Agnes (Mark) Kaiser, Stratford, and Rose (Don) Wenzel, Stratford.
Edward was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Raymond and Norbert Stockheimer; and sister, Anna Marie Kress.
