Robert Charles Rueth was born August 10, 1951, the son of Edward and Florence
(Schmidt) Rueth. He grew up on the family farm and received his education at St.
Anthony's Catholic School and from Loyal High School. Bob was drafted as a young
man and honorably served his country in the US Army between July 1970-1972 with
a tour of Vietnam. Following his duty in the service he was employed with Land
O'Lakes in Spencer and it was around that time he met Marie Klemme. They married
on October 5, 1974 and welcomed their son Kevin in February 1978. Bob enjoyed
over 40 years in the excavation business operating Robert Rueth Excavating and
also was employed with Grassland Dairy Products during the winter months for
many years.
He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, and enjoyed volunteering for
the Loyal American Legion Post 175 and the 40 & 8 Group 821 Wisconsin. Bob has
served as supervisor on the Sherman Town Board and as an usher at St. Anthony's
Church.
He had many interests, but especially enjoyed deer hunting up north and in the
woodlands around the farm. Bob enjoyed being his own mechanic on his excavating
equipment and could tear apart his equipment to the last piece and re-assemble
it. He was a very dedicated Son, Father, Uncle, Brother, and Friend. Bob enjoyed
his daily work as an excavator and was talented in site prep and demolition. At
the end of a project, he took pride in his finished work.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Marie, and son, Kevin. Bob was the second
oldest child in the Rueth Family and is survived by Thomas (Anne) Rueth, Roger (Alora)
Rueth all of Loyal, Susan (Michael) Rueth-Gumz of Athens, Bengie (Larry) Quelle
of Loyal, Roy (Helen) Rueth of Unity, Rose Lindekugel (fiancé-Neal Mondloch) of
Loyal, Kay (John) Krings-Rafferty of New Brighton, MN, his Brother-in-law Donald
Bangart of Greenwood; and many numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his older sister: Patricia Bangart; his
brother: Ralph Rueth; nephew: Adam Quelle, and niece: Angel Dawn Rueth.
His strength and strong faith was known by his family and friends. His driven
attitude and passion to work with equipment and the soil will be dearly missed
by all who loved and knew him.
