Hansen, Darlene Audrey (10 July 1944 – 26 January 2017)
Darlene Audrey Hansen, 72, of Humbird, lost her battle with breast cancer
Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017. She died peacefully at home with her husband at her
side.
Darlene was born July 10, 1944, in Milwaukee. For 49 years, she was married to
her soulmate Dan Myron Hansen. It was Darlene’s greatest wish to survive to the
milestone with her husband.
Darlene was an active member of The Order of the Eastern Star for many years.
She volunteered and participated in the Diabetic Support Group in Black River
Falls, and gave many hours in her life to helping others. Darlene worked
tirelessly on her family genealogy to seek her siblings and has hosted annual
reunions for years to nurture this bond.
Dan and Darlene owned and operated Dan’s Grocery in Humbird for nearly 30 years.
She knew every customer personally and their family by name. She enjoyed her
place in the community.
She is survived by her husband, Dan Hansen, and her son Carl (Kathy) Hansen of
Menomonie, granddaughters Christina and Madison, son Harold (Jana) Hansen of
Millston and granddaughter Abby. Darlene is also survived by her sister Angie
Pajot, and brothers Robert Schriener and Rick Schriener.
Darlene is preceded in death by her natural parents Joseph and Hazel (Buell)
Schriener, and Mrs. Margaret Kern, whom she always considered her mother.
Friends and family described Darlene as generous, loving, kind, loyal, giving,
and happy. She was wonderful wife and mother. Her family was her pride and joy.
She will be missed by many.
Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral
Home in Augusta. Friends may call one hour before services at the funeral home.
