Hackleberg, Roger Allen (24 April 1985 – 4 April 2017)
Roger Allen Hackleberg, 31, passed away April 4, 2017, with his family by his
side, following a brief battle with cancer at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center
in La Crosse.
Roger was born April 24, 1985, in Eau Claire at Luther Hospital, to Leon and
Corinda “Kindy” Hackleberg. He attended school in Alma Center, Humbird, and
Merrillan.
Roger worked as a water-tower painter and builder, milked cows, and was a master
mechanic.
Roger was an avid outdoorsman; he especially loved snowmobiling, and
side-by-side riding. His favorite place to walk and climb was the Wildcat Mound
area. He enjoyed guns, and shooting. Roger had a special love for animals and
had many assorted pets growing up. His family said, “he enjoyed being a
prankster with all kids.”
Roger is survived by his longtime girlfriend Jessica Nusberger, Humbird; his
children, Nadia and Aiden of Humbird; his father, Leon Hackleberg of Humbird;
his mother Corinda K. “Kindy” (Jerry) Parke of Humbird; his brother Charlie (Karissa)
of Neillsville, and grandmother Jean Walker of Humbird.
He is preceded in death by great-grandparents, Archie and Beatrice Hackleberg,
Emile and Selma Fink, Melvin and Rilla Walker, and Charlie and Lillian Fees;
grandparents, Orville Hackleberg, Ed and Dellene Bowman, Dick Walker; and infant
daughter Asacia Hackleberg.
Visitation was held Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Jensen-Modjeski
Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 10, 2017, at 2 p.m. from the Jensen-Modjeski
Funeral Home in Hoxton. Burial followed in mentor Cemetery in Humbird.
