Graves, Arleigh (24 APR 1903 – 22 JUN 1972)

Funeral services were held for at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Georgas Funeral Home for Arleigh F. Graves, 69, Granton, who died of a heart attack at his home last Thursday afternoon.

The Rev. Gary Clark, pastor of the United Church of Christ, officiated and burial took place in the Neillsville Cemetery.

Arleigh F. Graves was born April 24, 1903 at Granton (Clark Co., Wis.), and was educated there, graduating from the Granton High School. He also attended the La Crosse Business College one year. He was employed by the Borden Co. in Marshfield, then served as a field man for the American Stores Dairy at Neillsville for over 35 years. In late year he had worked at the Loyal Canning Co. in Loyal.

He was married July 29, 1922, at Marshfield, to the former Loretta Behrens, who survives him.

Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Trixie) Kranz, Neillsville, and Mrs. Otto (Arla) Hainz, Neillsville; his mother, Mrs. Jennie Hayden, Granton; one sister, Mrs. Fred (Clyde) Steinch, Menomonee Falls; eleven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and one grandson, Bradley Graves.
