Koch, Mr./Mrs. George M. (65th – 26 JUN 1972)
The Gerald Lucht home at Route 2, Spencer, was the scene Sunday afternoon, June
25th, of the 65th wedding anniversary celebration for Mr. and Mrs. George W.
Koch, Route 2, Spencer. An Open House was held from 2 to 5 p.m.
Mr. and Mrs. Koch were married in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Route 4,
Marshfield, on June 26, 1907.
Mrs. Koch is the former Leda Schilling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schilling
of Marshfield.
Mr. Koch was born in Horicon, Wisconsin and moved to Route 4, Marshfield with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Koch.
The couple have two children, Mrs. Gerald (Darlene) Lucht, Route 2, Spencer, and
Melvin G. Koch, Dallas, Texas.
For the occasion the buffet table was decorated with a beautiful centerpiece, a
gift of the celebrant's grandchildren, Mr. and Ms. David Lucht, and Larry Lucht,
Route 2, Spencer, and Specialist 4, Chuck A. Lucht, home on leave from the
United States Army, stationed at Schwabach, German.
Coffee was served by Mrs. Harold Grambow and Mrs. David Lucht.
Approximated 60 relatives and friends attended the Open House from Hartford,
Neenah, Wausau, Waukesha, Reedsburg, Manitowoc, Waupun, Marshfield, and the
immediate area, and from Washington, D.C. and Dallas, Texas.
Special prayers were said from Mr. and Mrs. Koch by the Rev. Walter J. Koepsell,
pastor of St. Peters Ev. Lutheran Church, Route 1, Marshfield, of which church
Mr. and Ms. Koch are members.
Also attending were Mrs. Lydia Gentz of Hartford and Mrs. Edwin Koch of
Greenwood, who were attendants at the original ceremony. They are the sister and
brother of the groom.
