Koffarnus, Pearl L. (29 JUN 1922 – 28 APR 2017)

Pearl L. Koffarnus, 94 of Curtiss, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Colby Retirement Community in Colby. Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the St Paul's Lutheran Church in the Town of Colby with Pastor Donald J Bruce officiating. Burial following the service at Saint Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, North Green Grove. Serving as pallbearers will be, Lee Jensen, Elmer Hayes, Galen Erdman, Jeff Seeger, Zach Greene and Mikhail Koffarnus. Family and friends are welcome from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.

Pearl was born on June 29, 1922 in Stratford, Wisconsin, to the late Henry and Anna (Wunrow) Aschebrock. She attended the Stratford and Unity schools. Pearl worked at a battery factory in Wausau during World War II. She married Hubert F. Koffarnus on November 23, 1943, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in La Crosse.

Pearl and Hubert farmed in rural Curtiss retiring in 1987. Together they moved to the Village of Curtiss in 1995.

She was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church and its ladies aide.

Pearl enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking, shopping, garage sales, gardening and canning.

Pearl is survived by her children; Gerald (Annette) Koffarnus of Unity, Carlin Koffarnus of Unity and Diane (Richard) Larson of Owen; six grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by one brother; Paul Aschebrock of Colby.

Pearl is preceded in death her parents, her husband; Hubert on January 26, 2003 and her siblings; Marie Allison, Lester Aschebrock, Caroline Reichert, Ralph Reichert, Helen Zoellner, Herman Aschebrock, Ervin Aschebrock and Irene Riehle.
