Vetrone, Edward L. (17 May 1953 – 11 April 2017)
Edward L. Vetrone, 63, of Alma Center passed away suddenly at his home April 11,
2017.
Edward Lee Vetrone, son of William and Vivian Vetrone, was born May 17, 1953, in
Wisconsin Rapids. He graduated from Neillsville High School May 29, 1971.
Growing up, Ed helped with his father’s milk route, and for three years after
graduating, he worked with Gary Ruzic Construction out of Neillsville.
He married Cathy Schofield and to this union they had two daughters, Rebecca and
Melissa. Ed later married Lori Reimer in 1986 in West Allis, and together they
had their son, Andrew.
Ed worked 13 years for Gerald Nell, Inc, a general contractor in Brookfield.
From 1993 to 1997, he worked for F. E. Concrete Inc., also of Brookfield. He
then worked for Badger State Walls/Stigler Construction of Watertown.
He eventually returned to Alma Center, where he worked with his family at V-Trone
Auto Service in Fairchild. He had also worked at Cain’s Orchard in Hixton, upon
retiring.
Ed loved spending time with his family, especially his children and
grandchildren. He had always enjoyed fishing, collecting hats, and all sports.
Ed will be dearly missed by his daughter, Melissa O’Brien (Ben Schoch) of
Minneapolis; son Andrew Vetrone (Michael Fischer) of Minneapolis; three
grandchildren, Peyton, Cash, and Koleigh; three brothers William Jr. (Jan)
Vetrone of Merrillan, James (Audrey) Vetrone of Kalispell, MT, and Timothy
Vetrone of rural Alma Center; a sister, Deborah (Mike) Laufenberg of Hixton; his
nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Ed was preceded in death by his mother Feb. 24, 2011, his father Jan. 29, 2014,
daughter Rebecca Oct. 27, 1993, niece Kari Laufenberg June 14, 1983, and former
wife Cathy Sept. 8, 2015.
Memorial services will be held Saturday May 6, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Anderson
Funeral Home in Augusta, with the visitation Saturday starting at 9 a.m. Burial
will be at a later date..
