Mrs. Flossie Schmidtke accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Bill Schmidtke of Granton to
Lidgerwood, North Dakota, Saturday for a several days visit with Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Schmidtke. Mrs. Earl Dumas, who has been visiting here, also accompanied
them and continued onto her home at Tacoma, Washington.
Mrs. Myrtle Davis and son Warren, daughter Shirley, and grandson Jimmy, spent
from Tuesday to Thursday on a trip to Mackinac Island, Michigan.
Mrs. Harvey Spangler and children Allen and Karen, returned to their home at
Webster City, Iowa, Friday, after a several days visit with her mother, Mrs.
Flossie Schmidtke and other relatives.
Mrs. Flossie Schmidtke and daughter, Mrs. Harvey Spangler, and children visited
Tuesday afternoon at the Rollie Benedict home and Wednesday evening they visited
at the Otto Algene Schmidtke home at Stratford.
A group of relatives and friends held a surprise party Monday evening at the
Walnut Inn, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Louis Walter's 50th wedding anniversary. Their
children, Mrs. Frank Fojt of Tampa, Florida, and Frank Walter of Valrico,
Florida, called them, wishing them a happy anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Orville
Luchterhand took them to Bali Hai for supper. They were presented with gifts and
gifts of money. Lunch was served, along with a decorated anniversary cake.
Thursday evening another surprise party was given them by the Sew and So
Homemakers Club, of which she is a member. This was held at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Rollie Benedict home. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Louie Gunia. Cards were
played. Prizes went to Mrs. Bernice Tucker in canasta, Nyle Benedict in
sheepshead, and Louie Gunia in clinch. A lunch was served, along with a very
pretty decorated anniversary cake made by Mrs. Ray Hetzel and Mrs. Flossie
Schmidtke. The honored couple was presented with a gift from the blub.
Mr. and Mrs. Milan D. Matanic and family spent the weekend with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Louie Gunia.
John Peaslee of City Point visited Friday evening at the Rollie Benedict home..
