Wojt, Gerald “Jerry” James (13 AUG 1938 - 3 MAY 2017)
Gerald “Jerry” James Wojt, age 78, of Gilman, passed away peacefully, surrounded
by his family on May 3, 2017 at the Cornell Health Care Center and under the
care of Hope Hospice.
Jerry was born in Clark County in the Township of Withee on Aug. 13, 1938. He
was the son of Anton Sr. and Rose (Lubrant) Wojt. He was united in marriage to
Patricia “Pat” White on March 21, 1959 in Stanley.
Jerry grew up on his family farm in the Township of Withee and graduated from
Thorp High School in 1956. Jerry worked hard all his life and held jobs as a
milk can hauler as well as at the Stanley Corporation, Midland Cooperative, Area
Equipment, Juzwiak Implement, Branstiter Equipment and Fleet Farm where he then
retired. Jerry was known well for his mechanical talents and for his inventions
that made a work day easier. Jerry, along with his wife Pat, enjoyed fixing up
and selling homes after his retirement. He enjoyed working with wood and
building furniture and birdhouses among other things. He loved going to auctions
and often would just sit and listen to the auctioneer. He will be remembered by
his children often singing the Auctioneer Song. Jerry loved listening to polka
music and Johnny Cash. His biggest love was spending time with his family.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 58 years; four children, Rose Gulcynski of
Gilman, Jim (Lynette) Wojt of Marshfield, Dennis (Cindy) Wojt of Cadott and Lori
