Fischer, Jerome L. “Jug” (21 OCT 1944 - 6 MAY 2017)

Jerome L. “Jug” Fischer, age 72, of Willard, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield with the family by his side.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Jerome’s Life being held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at his residence N8811 Dickerson Avenue in Willard, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. A private committal service will be held later at Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Jerome was born on October 21, 1944 in the Town of Brighton, Marathon County, the son of Donald and Arva (Duvall) Fischer. He attended grade school in Unity and later graduated from Colby High School. He was united in marriage to Constance Loos on May 16, 1964 in Unity. Sadly, she passed away October 8, 2003. Jug did construction work and was last employed for a window manufacturer.

He was a longtime member of the American Cribbage Congress Association.

His hobbies included having a great love for and playing the game of cribbage, watching some sporting events especially the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears and working in his yard mowing lawn.

Survivors include his daughter Sheri (Dennis) Rieck of Medford; a granddaughter Kaitlyn (Adam) Erl of Dorchester; a grandson Colten Rieck of Medford; a step grandson Jesse (Danielle) Rieck of Dorchester; his great grandchildren: Cooper and Raelyn Erl and Malayna, Daelyn, Payton and Conner Rieck; one sister Linda Fischer of Mission, TX and one brother Larry Fischer of Mission, TX along with other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Constance.

If desired, memorials in Jug’s name are being accepted by his family to The American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer.
