Lindow, Michael V. (21 NOV 1947 – 4 MAY 2017)
Michael Vernon Lindow of Chili, was called to our Heavenly Father on Thursday,
May 4, 2017. Michael "Mike" was the son of Vernon and Iris (Neinas) Lindow. Mike
was born on November 21, 1947. On December 27, 1969, he was united in marriage
to Donna Rae Wolfe at St. John's Lutheran Church in Town pf Easton, Wausau.
Mike was a 1965 graduate of the Marshfield High School and University of
Wisconsin Madison Farm and Industry Short Course. After graduation, Mike return
to the family farm and farmed with this family raising dairy cattle, beef
cattle, but his true love and passion were his hogs which were under the farm
names of Lindy's Durocs and DoMil Hamps. He exhibited animals at the Wisconsin
Valley Fair at Wausau, WI, Clark County Fair at Neillsville, WI, Central WI
State Fair at Marshfield, WI, Northern Wisconsin State Fair at Chippewa Falls,
WI, WI State Fair, National Barrow, National Summer Type Conference and World
Pork Expo. His breeding decisions, created numerous Grand and Reserve Champions
across the country including five entries into the Wisconsin State Fair
Governor's Blue Ribbon Auction. Mike and Donna produced the 1988 Champion Duroc
Production Barrow at National Barrow Show in Austin Minnesota. In 2002, Mike and
Donna were named the Master Seedstock from the Wisconsin Pork Association. Then
in 2004, Mike and Donna were inducted into the Wisconsin Hall of Fame from the
Wisconsin Pork Association. Mike was very dedicated to youth in agriculture
through 4-H and FFA. He is a lifetime member of the Marshfield FFA Alumni, WI
FFA Alumni and National FFA Alumni. He was also a member of the WI Livestock
Breeders Association which he was an active member helping at the Northwest
Junior Livestock Show in Eau Claire and served as a board member and was
President of the organization. Mike was also an active member of Immanuel United
Methodist Church in Chili. He Served as a Trustee and helped with many
improvements on his church projects.
Mike had a love for baseball. It started at a very young age by playing at his
one room school. He played for the Marshfield Tigers Baseball Team in high
school. After graduation he played fast pitch softball for Chili Milk Pool, fast
pitch for Lynn and played later on in the slow pitch league for Stichert
Roofing. After his baseball career ended, he coached the Chili 4-H Club A and B
Teams for ten years winning numerous county championships.
Mike will be missed by his loving wife Donna of 48 years, children Kimberly
(Richard) Heine, Helenville, WI; Kristin (Doug) Long, Sterling, Illinois; Kevin
(Ann) Lindow, Chili, Wisconsin; and Karlene (Scott) Krueger, Campbellsport,
Wisconsin. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Anthony (Mariah
Strauss), KateLynne (Andrew Voight), Dakota, Tyler & Noah Heine, Kile & Kassie
Long, Joshua, Jessica, Jamie, Jenna, Justine & Jacob Lindow, McKinley, Brooklyn
& Johnathon Krueger. Sister Marilyn (Dale) Dickerson, father-in-law Raymond
Wolfe, sisters-in-law Mary Lou (Bruce) Klug; Nancy (Gary) Hansen, Lindy
(Sherman) Roberts and Brother-in-law David Wolfe. He is further survived by many
nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Iris
Lindow and mother-in-law Joan Wolfe.
Visitation will be at the Hansen Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield from 3:00
to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon May 7th. Visitation will continue on Monday,
May 8th at Immanuel United Methodist Church 920 North Street, Chili, Wisconsin
from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with service at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Lay
Pastor Sally Rendell officiating. A lunch will be served following the service
with a private family burial to follow. Memorial may be directed to the family.
