----Zahorka, Bernice (Marriage – 26 Aug. 1941)

In a late summer wedding, Miss Bernice Zahorka, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zahorka, of Milan became the bride of Albert Horacek, Town of Rietbrock. The Rev. Raymond Schultz read the service and sang the nuptial high mass in St. John’s Catholic Church, Milan, Tuesday morning at nine o’clock.

The bride wore a floor length gown of white satin with a train. Orange blossoms held the finger tip veil and a shower bouquet of roses and mixed flowers made up the bridal bouquet.

Miss Helen Meier of Wurtzburg in a frock of yellow silk attended as maid of honor. Miss Marcella Meier, Wurtzburg and Miss Margaret Fiedler, Athens, in frocks of light blue and rose respectively were the bridesmaids. Their floor length gowns with bandeaus and shoulder veils to match and bouquets of mixed flowers made a charming complement to the bride’s loveliness.

Theodore Meier, Wurtzburg, Clarence Augustine, and Eldon Denzine, Town of Holton, attended the groom.

Following the ceremony a reception and dinner was held at the farm home of the bride’s parents. Streamers of white, yellow, blue and rose and garden flowers were used in the decorations. About 100 guests attended.

Before her marriage the bride was employed in the post office at Milan. The groom is a member of Ewan’s orchestra.

The young couple are at home to their friends in the Town of Rietbrock.
