MOSINEE -- Leo A. Taylor, 83, of 1224 Ancestor Lane, Mosinee, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at home with his family by his side, under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Halder. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Halder.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, where at 7 p.m., there will be a VFW service. Visitation will be again from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
He was born March 15, 1925, in the town of Green Valley, to the late Asa and Lousia (Daul) Taylor. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict from February 1951 to February 1953. After returning from the war, he married Norma Jean Bossell on May 24, 1953, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Halder. She died Jan. 26, 1999. He stayed on the family farm until his retirement in 2007.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Taylor and Robert Taylor, both of Mosinee; five daughters, Judith (Robert) Liston, Mosinee, JoAnne (William) Bennett, Medicine Bow, Wyo., Sandra (Allen) Hamus, Stratford, Bernadette (Bradley) Lewis, Neillsville, and Jacqueline (fiance, Dwayne Taylor) Bialozor, Marshfield; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Joe Taylor, Mosinee, and Alphons (Pat) Taylor, Linsey.
