Koch, Sharon Lee (Bender) (9 FEB 1947 - 22 APR 2017)

Sharon Lee Koch, age 70, of Holcombe, formerly of Unity, passed away April 22, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at St. Mary's Hospital, MAYO Clinic in Rochester, MN.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Family and friends are welcome from 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Pastor Teri Hanson will officiate.

Sharon was born on February 9, 1947, the daughter of Walter and Hester Bender in Louisiana. She was united in marriage to David Koch on November 7, 1969. Sharon received her degree in education from Southeast Louisiana College. Upon receiving her teaching degree, she taught many years for Spencer Public School district.

Sharon was a master of word games; she also enjoyed the ocean, dolphins, the color purple, and watching crime shows on TV. Most of all, she cherished her family and spoiled her grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by her husband: David; her two daughters: Bobbi (Rick) Wagner, and Andrea Koch; a son: Scott Koch; and eight grandchildren: Taylor Wagner, Shelby, Austin, and Chandler Koch, Kaylie, Addyson, Livvy, and Brynlee Koch; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Walter and Hester; a daughter: Penny Koch; and Jim and Martha Koch.
