Moe, Anton (18 JAN 1891 – 1 OCT 1972)
Anton Moe, 81, Rt. 2, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), died Sunday evening, October 1,
1972, at the Memorial Nursing Home, Neillsville, where he has resided since May
10, 1972.
He was born January 18, 1891 in the Town of Naples, Buffalo County, Wisconsin,
to Paul and Margit (Kjentvet) Moe, and married Adelaide Olson June 16, 1920, in
Mondovi. He farmed in the Town of Drammen, rural Mondovi, for 37 years. He then
lived in Libertyville, Illinois for 11 years, and for the past four years had
resided with his daughter and son-in-law's family at Loyal. A veteran of World
War I, he was a member of the Loyal Legion.
Survivors are his wife; one son, Dutee Moe, Grayslake, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs.
Louis (Marguerite) Helmstead, Eau Claire, and Mrs. Ronald (Lyla) Meyer, Loyal;
eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Morton Moe, Mondovi,
and one sister, Mrs. Clinton (Martha) Jackson, Mondovi.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 5, at Central Lutheran Church,
Mondovi, where he was a member for 46 years. The Rev. William Humlie, Trinity
Lutheran Church, Loyal, officiated. Burial was at Riverside Lutheran Cemetery,
Mondovi.
