Brecht, Herman (31 JAN 1917 – 4 OCT 1972)
Herman Brecht, 55, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), died at 10:30 p.m., October 4, 1972
at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, as a result of injuries received August 15
in an auto accident.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 7 at St. Anthony's
Catholic Church, with the Rev. Norbert King officiating, and burial was made in
St. Anthony's Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harry Schlinsog, Frank Schwanke, Earl Cammers, Richard Weyer,
Oscar Fricke, and Clarence Knoll, Granton.
Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, was in charge of arrangements.
Herman Brecht was born January 31, 1917, at Melvina, Monroe Co., Wisconsin, and
received his education in Loyal area schools. He was married in 1940 at Dubuque,
Iowa, to Mable Vogel, who survives him.
They operated Brecht's Tavern in Loyal for ten years.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Brecht is survived by three sons, Wayne, Loyal,
Michael, Spencer, and Patrick, Spencer, and one daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Carol)
Vick, Manhattan, Montana; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Gorke,
Dorchester; three brothers, Peter and Emery, Loyal, and Jerome, DePere. He is
also survived by his mother, Mary, who is living at Memorial Home, Neillsville.
Mr. Brecht was preceded in death by his father, Frank, and one brother,
Clarence.
