Miss Ruth M. Schaefer became the bride Saturday, October 21, 1972 of Richard A. Verschay. They are now making their home at 1642 Bainbridge Street in La Crosse, where he is a registered pharmacist and employed by Shopko Stores, Inc.

Mrs. Verschay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Were J. Schaefer, route 1, Abbotsford, graduated May 28, 1970 from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing and has been employed at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, as a registered nurse.

The couple said their vows at 1 p.m. before the Rev. Leonard C. Stashek, pastor, in St. Thomas Catholic Church, Milan. Jeanne, Gayle, and Mavis Burger provided nuptial music with guitar and sang.

Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Verschay of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.).
