An early Monday morning fire completely destroyed the 140 foot dairy barn and
all its contents on the Dennis Draper farm, located seven miles southwest of
Loyal in the Town of York (Clark Co., Wis.). The fire was discovered by a
neighbor who awoke the Drapers. The fire had gained such headway, it was
impossible to save anything from the barn, which included 40 head of cows, a
tractor and manure spreader, the entire winter's supply of hay, and the milking
equipment and bulk tank. The Granton Fire Department was called to the scene
about 2:30 in the morning.
