Goetsch, Gerald "Jerry" D. (6 MAR 1932 - 30 MAY 2017)
Gerald "Jerry" D. Goetsch, 85, Largo, Fla., formerly of Wausau, died Tuesday,
May 30, 2017 in Pinallas Park, Fla.
He was born March 6, 1932 in the town of Maine, son of the late Henry and Hattie
(Genz) Goetsch. On October 3, 1953, he married Carol Eckardt at the Church of
St. Anne, Wausau. She survives.
For many years, Jerry was a musician and band leader for the Jerry Goetsch
Orchestra, a member of the Polka Music Hall of Fame and founder of Jerry's
Music, Wausau. He was a member of the Wausau Noon Optimist Club, Wausau Westside
Business Association and Rib Mountain Bowmen.
Survivors include, his wife, Carol Goetsch, Largo, Fla.; two children, Kathy
Goetsch, Largo, Fla. And Terry Goetsch, Tomahawk; two grandchildren, Kelly
Goetsch, Brookfield and Lauren (Jake) Seever, Mosinee; and three
great-grandchildren, Helana Gantner, Gavin and Athena Seever.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Adeline Goetsch;
and two brothers, Ardell and Elroy.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at St. Mark's
Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Kenneth Albers will officiate. Burial will be in
Maple Grove Cemetery, town of Maine. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:00 a.m.
until time of services at the church.
