Halverson, Arthur O. (28 FEB 1941 - 3 JUN 2017)
Arthur O. Halverson, age 76, of Riplinger, passed away peacefully on Saturday,
June 3, 2017, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at St. John’s
Lutheran Church in Spencer, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Rebekah Tarras presiding.
There will be no burial. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the
church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
He was born on Feb. 28, 1941, in Colby to Arthur and Fern (Kramer) Halverson.
Arthur attended Medford area schools and joined the National Guard “Red Arrow
Unit” in Medford, and served six years. He married the former Nancy Lee Blank on
Oct. 14, 1961, at the First United Church of Christ in Colby.
He worked for Dahl Motors in Loyal for 27 years and also for Paul Bugar
Trucking, Lynn Dairy and Roehl Transport, working for all as a mechanic. He was
a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Spencer.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; two daughters, Jodi (Jerome) Alsteen of
Mosinee and Heidi McBride of Loyal; two sons, Robbie (Dee) Halverson of Wausau
and Lonnie (Brenda) Halverson of Colby; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Erin
and Hannah Pflughoeft, Tierney McBride, Katelyn (Zachary) Hoffarth, Taylor,
Logan and Jaylin Halverson; three half brothers, Rodney, Scott and Forest; two
half sisters, Jean (Wayne) Gaul and Charlene Halverson; and one step-sister,
Joyce (Ray) Kraemer.
Preceding him in death were son-in-law, James McBride; his parents; two sisters,
Faye (Frank) Benvenuto and Diane Halverson; and his step-father, Lawrence
Patterson.
The family wishes to thank the DaVita Dialysis Center Marshfield and the
Oncology Department of the Marshfield Clinic.
