Liske, Lucy J. (Matyka) (22 MAY 1928 - 9 JUN 2017)
Lucy J. Liske, 89, of 618 E. Conrad Drive, Medford, passed away on Friday, June
9, 2017 at Aspirus Medford hospital, emergency room, where she was taken
earlier.
The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 14 at Holy Rosary
Catholic Church, Medford, with Father Phil Juza and Deacon Joe Stefancin
officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Medford.
Pallbearers are Sam, Lucas, Christopher and Chad Liske, Casey and Kyle Deneen,
Tyler Raab.
Visitation will be at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford from 5-8 PM Tuesday, June
13 where there will be at 8 PM Catholic prayer service held that evening; and
also from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Wednesday, June 14 at the
church.
Lucy was born on May 22, 1928, in the Township of Greenwood, to Joseph and Agnes
(Matyka) Matyka. She attended school in the Town of Greenwood, was a graduate of
Rib Lake High School, and Taylor County Teachers College. Lucy was married on
June 13, 1953, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Town of Greenwood to Marvin H.
Liske.
After her education, she taught in Rib Lake schools for 5 years. She was a
housewife/mother for many years and worked beside her husband at Liske Marine
from 1964 until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, snowmobiling, spending
time at the lake and being with family and friends. She was a member of Holy
Rosary Catholic Church, Medford.
Lucy is survived by her husband, Marvin Liske of Medford, children George, John
and Peter (Corinne) Liske, all of Medford, Lisa (Todd Campfield) Raab, of
Wausau, and son-in-law: Dan Deneen of Pewaukee.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, siblings
Charlie and Paul Matyka, both of Rib Lake.
Lucy was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Agnes (Matyka) Matyka, and a
daughter, Mary Deneen in 2003, siblings Peter, Joseph, Jim, John and Frank
Matyka, Agnes Maager, Elizabeth Gauger, Sister Catherine Matyka, Annie Erl &
baby Mary in infancy.
