Now that June Dairy Month has rolled around, it’s time to rejoice with breakfast
on the farm.
This year’s Neillsville Dairy Breakfast will be held Sunday, June 11, at C Dairy
located at W4445 CTH C north of Neillsville. The event is being sponsored by the
Neillsville Area Chamber of Commerce (NACC).
C Dairy celebrated its two-year anniversary April 21. The dairy farm is
comprised of three locations on CTH C; two milking, and one pre-lactation
facility.
With new local, family ownership and management, C Dairy employs over 40
individuals who call Clark County home. C Dairy milks around 1,600 cows and has
1,700 young-stock. A majority of the cows are Holsteins.
Farm Manager Jim Van Patter focuses on cow comfort daily to optimize herd
health, and quality of the milk.
Over the past two-years, C Dairy updated facilities with improved ventilation
systems, expanded the stall sizing and added equipment for cow cleanliness and
hygiene. Cow comfort is the main priority on the farm and drives management
practices.
C Dairy is proud to work with local vendors to support the farm. Almost
everything, from supplemental feed, electric, equipment and supplies, is
purchased from local vendors.
“C Dairy is honored to host the Neillsville Dairy Breakfast to promote
agriculture to the public and show gratitude for the community in which the farm
and employees reside,” said Maureen Lee, marketing, and communications director
for Grassland Dairy.
Breakfast will be served in their modern pole shed from 7 a.m. to noon, with
delicious traditional buttermilk and blueberry pancakes, special recipe
scrambled eggs, sausage links, applesauce, cheese curds, ice cream, juice, milk,
and coffee. Grassland butter will be featured.
Adult ticket price is $7, Children ages kindergarten through fifth grade eat at
a discounted price of $3, Pre-schoolers eat free.
After indulging in a delicious meal, attendees are encouraged to enjoy farm tour
wagon rides, and a kids’ scavenger hunt hosted by the 2016-2017 Miss Neillsville
Court.
The event will also feature live music, a petting zoo, a display by the Granton
Antique Tractor Club, and activities for the children.
Parking for the Neillsville Dairy Breakfast will be in the previous Ruzic
Construction lot at the corner of STH 73 and CTH C (N4897 STH 73), with free
shuttle bus service to the farm. Shuttles will run constantly. Handicap parking
only will be available at the farm; follow signs to the designate area. Parking
is not allowed on CTH C.
