Goodwin, Dale L. (9 JUL 1951 – 1 JUN 2017)
Dale L. Goodwin, 65, Loyal, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at his home. A
memorial visitation will be held at Cuddie Funeral Home in Loyal, on Saturday,
June 24, from noon-2 p.m.
Dale Lee Goodwin was born on July 9, 1951, in Watertown, to Edward and Ida (nee
Elpert) Goodwin. In 1956 his family moved to Colby, and then to Loyal, where he
received his education and graduated from Loyal High School in 1969. Dale was
drafted into the U.S. Army on Jan. 26, 1971, and served until his honorable
discharge on Jan. 16, 1973. He returned to Loyal and went to work at Smith
Feed’s and married the love of his life, Cathi Spuhler, on Jan. 18, 1974. Dale
later worked for Dolly Madison in Eau Clare, and was in charge of the Marshfield
route. In 1979, he went to work driving truck for Roehl Transport and retired in
July 2016 after 36 years of service. He had many interests, but especially loved
spending time with his family and friends, camping, boating, tinkering, and
collecting tractors and artifacts.
Dale will be dearly missed by his wife, Cathi, of Loyal; his son: Damon
(Theresa) Goodwin of Marshfield; three grandchildren: Brianna S. Darrow,
Samantha Jolee Goodwin, and Devan Lee Goodwin; one great-granddaughter: Brooklyn
J. Darrow; his sister: Janis (Allen) Miller of Loyal; his sister-in-law: Theresa
Goodwin of Colby; two brothers-in-law: Michael (Sharon) Spuhler of Loyal, and
Jack (Barb) Spuhler of Thorp; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many
friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Goodwin.
