Poler, Wanda Elizabeth (15 July 1926 – 9 June 2017)
Wanda Elizabeth (Ferguson) Poler, 90, of Neillsville passed into God’s heavenly
gates Friday, June 9, 2017, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.
She was born July 15, 1926, in the Township of Washburn, Clark County, the
daughter of Fred and Mable Ferguson. She was a 1943 graduate of Granton High
School.
She married Robert E. Poler in Neillsville March 10, 1946. She, along with her
family, lived in Neillsville until 1966, when they moved to West Bend after the
closing of the Milk Products Company in Neillsville. They returned to their
original homestead in Neillsville on Fairground Avenue in 1988. Then, in July of
1999, she and Robert moved to their new retirement home on STH 73, Neillsville.
Wanda was a devoted caregiver throughout her life to her three sons and husband.
She enjoyed reading, knitting, polka music, and watching deer in her back yard.
She was also a firm believer, and member of the Living Hope Church, Neillsville,
where she attended faithfully, and sponsored Bible studies in her home.
She is survived by three sons Darwin (Kathleen) Poler, Essex, MD, Glenn (Jan)
Poler, Fond du Lac, and Clay (LuAnn) Poler, Wisconsin Rapids; 12 grandchildren,
and 24 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother, Russell
Ferguson, Roxboro, NC; two sisters, Shirley Bragg, Springdale, AR; Kittie
Tostenson, Houston, MN; and a half-sister, Patricia (Ron) Everson, Marshfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Lovella “Va;” Poler,
brothers-in-law, Charles Poler, and Leonard Tostenson, and Peter Bragg,
daughter-in-law Patricia Poler, and great-grandson Sebastian Wisse.
A memorial service will be held July 16, 2017, after the 10:30 a.m. service at
Living Hope Church, 7 Fairground Avenue, Neillsville.
