Sibilski, Robert James (21 October 1936 – 4 June 2017) With Flag
Robert James Sibilski, 80, of Coon Rapids, MN, and formerly of Neillsville,
passed away peacefully June 4, 2017.
Bob was born Oct. 21, 1936, in Milwaukee, and grew up in Ludington, MI. He
attended St. Simon’s High School, where he was a star baseball player and
mischief maker. After graduation, he moved to Milwaukee, and completed his
apprenticeship as a journeyman electrician. He was a proud member of IBEW Local
494 for over 60 years. He also served in the United States Army National Guard.
Bob was married for more than 58 years to his wife, Shirley. They retired to the
Neillsville area in 1995. There were active members of Holy Family Church in
Willard. Bob also served as chairman for the Town of Seif for eight years.
Bob was an active hunter and fisherman. He loved duck and pheasant hunting, with
his beloved Labradors. He was a season-ticket holder of the Milwaukee Bucks, and
Green Bay Packers. He loved a good tailgate party and attended many games,
including the infamous Ice Bowl. He loved a cold beer with a steak from the
grill, country music, watching Meet the Press, visiting with neighbors, and
working out in the garage.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Shirly; his son and hunting
partner, Robert J. Sibilski Jr. and his wife, Jeri; his daughters Susan
Sibilski, and Sandy Sibilski; grandchildren Nick and Billy, niece Laurie Paul;
great-nephews Justin, Matthew, and Mike; and sisters Cheryl Sands (Al), and
Janice Sides. Extended family, and friends also survive him.
He is preceded in death by his grandson Marcus, his parents John and Anna, his
sister Loraine Buckles (Norman), and several brothers.
Bob was a kind and giving man, a loving husband, proud father and grandfather,
and a good friend to all who knew him.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017, at
Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. Visitation will be held at the church,
beginning at 10 a.m. Lunch will follow services.
