Friends will be interested in learning that a former Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) boy,
Pat Gaffney, is now serving in the Army in Vietnam, having left the states in
February. Pat's mother, Mrs. Richard Gaffney, Neillsville, says Pat enjoys and
looks forward to receiving the Owen Enterprise and even his buddies like to read
it.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Candahl of La Crosse visited his mother, Mrs. Caroline
Candahl, on Easter Day. She also enjoyed a visit from her daughter, Mrs. Van
Zial of Sturgis, Michigan, the week before Easter.
Father H.L. Crubel, pastor of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, left yesterday on
a month's vacation trip that will take him to Europe and a visit of many
interesting areas. Presently he is in Athens, Greece, and intends to spend next
week in the Holy Land.
David Haralson of Milwaukee was a weekend visitor here at the home of his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Myrle Haralson.
Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Madsen and Mr. and Mrs. Neal Laine enjoyed a drive to
Lake Holcombe, where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. C.N. McMillan.
Miss Cathy Bunke and Joe Schiepek were Sunday guests at the Herman Heidt home.
Mrs. Herman Heidt attended the funeral of a cousin, Joseph Kucirek, at Wausau on
Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Nevala and Susan attended the funeral of her brother-in-law,
Clem Loos, at Marshfield on Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Pool of Milwaukee enjoyed a visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Jablonic and With Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wolfram and other friends last
week.
Monday of the week Mrs. Carl Halverson entered Luther Hospital at Eau Claire for
a check up.
