Prock, Edward G. (23 MAR 1883 – 5? JUN 1968)
Funeral services were conducted at 10 o'clock Saturday morning, June 8, 1968 at
the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, for Edward G. Prock, 85.
Father H.L. Crubel officiated and burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Jens Miller, Bernard Auberg, Louis Burhop, Toivo
Makinen, Martin Korn and Mike Krach.
Mr. Prock was a resident of the Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) community and a
businessman here since 1937, until his retirement in 1944. Even at that he
continued to make his home here until two years ago when he entered the Nursing
Home at Neillsville. He had wandered away from the home Wednesday forenoon of
last week and an employee later found his body in the nearby Black River.
Mr. Prock was born March 23, 1883, and later farmed in the Neillsville area
until 1937, when he moved to Owen.
His marriage to Otellia Poppe, who preceded him in death, March 21, 1961, took
place June 5, 1910 at Neillsville.
Survivors are two sons, Kenneth, Rockford, Ill.; and Alois, Owen; a daughter,
Mrs. Lila Crawford of Phoenix, Arizona; seven grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
