Kivikko, Sophia (19 JUL 1879 – 16 JUN 1968)

Funeral services for Sophia Kivikko, 89, were conducted from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon, June 19, 1968. Rev. Arvid Myhrwold, pastor of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Greenwood, officiated, with burial being made at Riverside Cemetery at Withee (Clark Co., Wis.).

The deceased passed away Sunday, June 16, 1968 at the Havenet Nursing Home in Owen, where she had been a resident for the past five years.

Mrs. Kivikko was born July 19, 1879 in Finland. Her marriage to John Kivikko, who preceded her in death January 5, 1961, took place in 1910 at DeKalb, Illinois.

After their marriage the couple came to the town of Longwood (Clark Co.) in 1911, where they operated a farm until 1943. They then moved to DeKalb, where they lived until 1955, when they returned to this community to make their home with their son Edward at Curtiss.

She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church at Owen.

Survivors included five sons, Edward of Curtiss; Leonard, Owen; John and Peino, DeKalb, Ill.; and William of Spencer; a daughter, Mrs. Einar Jackson, Greenwood; a sister, Hulda, in Finland, 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
