Mr. and Mrs. A.T. Stewart drove to Bangor, Michigan Sunday to be present at the
christening of their granddaughter, Milisssa Ann Scharf, at the First
Congregational Church.
Mrs. Bernard Barrett and daughters Randy and Kim left Sunday morning by plane on
their return home to San Jose, California, after spending a week visiting at the
home of her mother, Mrs. A. Thiebert, and sister, Lucy, as well as other friends
in this area.
Dr. Agnes Smith had the misfortune to fall and beak her leg at her home last
week, and she is now confined in Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley.
Mr. and Mrs. James Haire of Minneapolis arrived Saturday to attend the Owen
Masonic Lodge Anniversary, and also the funeral of Reuben Powers on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Auberg, Mr. and Mrs. Ed LePage, and Mr. and Mrs. Jerome
LePage spent the weekend on a fishing outing at Iron River.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Christensen are enjoying a visit from his cousin, Mr. and
Mrs. Irving Jensen of Spokane, Washington. Other guests were their daughters and
families, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Helberg of Rice Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Englebretson and son of Wausau, who came to attend the Williams-Potocnik
wedding.
On Wednesday Rev. and Mrs. LeRoy Urman and family returned home after a 10-day
vacation with relatives in Minnesota.
Dr. and Mrs. J.W. Johnson left Thursday for Texas, where they will visit their
son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Johnson.
On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Roger Engel and son, Richard Allen, of Madison arrived to
vacation at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Engel, and other
relatives.
