Seif (8 May 1919)
There will be a community program at the school house on Friday evening, May 16,
given by the “Willing Savers” Society. A victory play, entitled “Lest We
Forget”, will be given. Cast of characters is as follows: Peter Gregg, a retired
patriot-John Poppe; Mrs. Barnard, his niece and chairman of the Fifth Liberty
Loan Committee-Marie Worchel; Emily, her daughter-Marie McCune; Billy, her
son-Wm. Manthey; Sarah, maid of all work-Olga Kuenkel; Mrs. Grant, neighbor of
Mrs. Barnard-Mary Fechtner; Mrs. Todd, neighbor of Mrs. Barnard-Helen Elton;
Rose Marion, returned Red Cross nurse-Mayme McCune.
Mr. and Mrs. George Boyer and baby spent Sunday with the home folks.
Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Worchel and Eugene spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Buddinger at
York.
Mr. and Mrs. John Jacklin called on Ellis Jacklin and wife Sunday.
The Thoma boys are picking up all the stray stone in this vicinity for their new
basement. Here’s hoping they don’t stop until they are all gone.
J. Geisler and son are putting up a basement for a new house for Mr. Kuenkel.
