A.J. Sheddon went to Bangor Tuesday on business.
Mrs. Chas. Gaetke went to Merrillan Tuesday for a few days’ visit.
Neal Trogner enlisted in the navy last week and went to Great Lakes training
station.
Mrs. A.G. Wepfer and children of Norwalk came Tuesday to spend a month with
relatives.
Mrs. Frank Anderson and daughter arrived here Saturday from River Falls for a
few weeks’ visit with relatives.
Mrs. Mundhenk and son left Tuesday for their home at Denver, Col., after a visit
with her mother, Mrs. Pagenkopf.
Emil Wepfer telegraphed his mother Tuesday that he had been released from the
navy and he arrived home that night.
Geo. Glass went to Merrillan Tuesday afternoon to meet his sister, Mrs.
Thompson, who came from Army City, Kansas, for a visit.
Mrs. John Bartoz and Miss Alfrieda Klann returned to Portage Monday after a few
days’ visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Klann.
Lieut. Arwed Eppling spent a few days here this week with W.D. Dangers. He went
to Washington Tuesday where he expects to be released from service and will then
go to Portland, Ore., to resume his work.
Herbert Zindell arrived home yesterday from France. He was attached to the 2nd
Aero Squadron and saw thirteen months’ service across the water, having been
sent across less than two months after he enlisted.
Mrs. G.L. Redmond returned Monday from a two months’ visit at Superior. While
there Mrs. Redmond witnessed the big Victory Loan Show, an exhibition consisting
of eight flying planes doing their thrilling stunts in the air.
