Carl Dodte was at Marshfield on Monday.

Miss Munro spent Sunday with friends at Augusta.

W.G. Royer was here on Monday transacting business.

Miss Elizabeth Kennedy was home from Owen on Saturday.

P.N. Nelson transacted business at Black River Falls Monday.

Dr. and Mrs. F.T. Weeks left last week for a trip to Boston.

Miss Gladys McNelly spent Sunday with relatives at Grand Rapids.

Mrs. Art Simons of Humbird spent Sunday here with Miss Clara Heyder.

Ezra Campbell went to Superior Friday where he will work for some time.

Mr. and Mrs. S.E. Weld went to Merrillan Monday to spend a few days.

M. Marcus of Minneapolis spent Sunday here with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Svirnoff.

Mrs. Henning of Chili spent Sunday here with Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Hoepner.

Miss Helen Crocker visited with Mr. and Mrs. Frances at Minneapolis last week.

Mrs. H.M. Root returned home last week from spending the winter at St. Petersburg, Fla.

Miss Esther Jackson is home from Sioux Falls, S.D., where she has spent several months.

Judge O’Neill and Court Reporter F.D. Calway returned to Mauston Monday to resume court.

Mrs. A.H. Edwards of Davenport, Ia., is here for a visit at the home of Mrs. Sarah Watters.

Dr. and Mrs. A. Matheson and Miss Gunborg Aspen went to St. Paul last week to hear Caruso sing.

Gordon Mills returned home Saturday from France, where he has been serving in a radio division.

Mrs. Simmons returned home to Hampton, Iowa, Monday, after a brief visit with Mrs. Sarah Waters.

Rev. Longenecker went to Tempeleau to attend a district convention of Congregational churches.

Mrs. Lillian Kennedy went to Milwaukee Tuesday to spend a short time with her daughter, Mrs. E.L. McIntyre.

Bruley Carlson of Minneapolis is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bruley. He but lately retuned from overseas duty.

Glenn E. Roberts of Co. D. 129th M.G. Bat. A.E.F. 35th Div., is here for a visit with Miss Ella Simon and other friends.

Herbert Zindell went to Milwaukee Monday to spend a few days and from there went to Bloomington, Ill., to visit a brother.

Hal. Grow went to Loyal Sunday to help out on the Loyal Tribune, owing to the illness of Mrs. Richardson, and the foreman of the office.

Chas. A. Thompson, secretary of the Wisconsin Conservation Commission, is spending a few days with her brother, County Superintendent O.W. Thompson.

Carl Haberland has been quite sick for the past two weeks and unable to attend to his business, but is up and around again and hopes to soon be in his old form.

An application for license to wed was made at the court house in Grand Rapids Saturday by Harry Cushing and Doris Carskaden, both of Marshfield. – Marshfield News

Frank J. Meyst, manager of the Minneapolis office of the Western Newspaper Union, died at his home last week. He was father-in-law of Walter Trogner, formerly of this city.

Harry Milton got back last week from Texas where he has been guarding the border with the U.S. Army. He is home for a furlough as he has re-enlisted and left on Wednesday for Eagle Pass, Texas.

Miss Vivienne Martinez of San Francisco is here for a visit with the Campman, Howard and Holmes families. She has been doing war work for several months, being engaged in nursing returned soldiers wounded soldiers in the base hospital at New York.

Tom Gibson wishes to thank his patrons and friends who have so kindly patronized his barber shop, regardless of the inconvenience and muss caused by the fire, which nearly destroyed his shop. The patronage of both old and new customers is appreciated.

Will Huntley, Jr., was at Wausau on business Tuesday.

Mrs. C. Lorentzen spent Sunday with relatives at Withee.

Miss Carrie Palliser was here from Milwaukee Tuesday visiting friends.

W.C. Bullard left Tuesday for St. Louis to attend the national Presbyterian convention.

M. Boll returned home to Necedah Tuesday after a brief visit with Mr. and Mrs. John Schuette.

Gottlieb Auman, who returned last week from overseas, went to Milwaukee Tuesday to visit relatives for a short time.

Miss Maude Alger and Mrs. Gretchen Larmatier have been appointed as supervising teachers for Clark County.

Lieut. James Jacques got home Tuesday morning, having received his discharge from the army. He arrived in this country from France last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Adams, Mrs. Holden and Mrs. Chandler left on Monday morning for Portland, Ore., where Mr. and Mrs. Adams and Mrs. Holden expect to reside.

Max Nemitz came home Monday from Des Moines, Iowa, on a short furlough. He was wounded in France last October and has been in a hospital here for some time.

H.H. Eberhardt has received a fine automobile funeral car. It is a handsome equipment, being finished in gray and makes a splendid addition to his undertaking business.

The Ladies Aid Society of the M.E. church will meet in the church parlors on Wednesday, May 21. The entertaining committee is Mesdames Ure, Gurgle, Monk, Newell and Kleckner.

Mrs. J.M. Verbekemoes and two children of Kooskia, Idaho, came Monday to spend a couple days with her father, Charles Gates. She and her father will go to Stevens Point from here to spend a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Tardiff.

Mrs. A.C. Lorentzen of Stevens Point spent a couple days last week with County Clerk and Mrs. Ole C. Andersen.

Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Wegner of Marshfield spent Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Moody.

Harold Bullard left Friday night for Quantico, Va., where he expects to receive his discharge from the Marines.

Miss Laura Mertes went to St. Paul Monday to be present at the time an operation was performed upon her mother.

W.D. Martin transacted business in Minneapolis Monday, renewing his contract for films and was successful in making a contract which includes all the film favorites which he has been showing during the past year.
