Co. I Passes Creditable Inspection (29 May 1919)
On Thursday evening Gen. Chas. A. King inspected Co. I of the 10th regiment,
W.S.G. Gen. King complimented the local boys very highly, stating that it is
evident that Neillsville has just as promising military material now as she has
had in the past, as was evidenced by the inspection of Thursday night. He
further stated that prompt and conscientious attendance at drills was all that
was needed to make Co. I as good as the best in the state. As a result of the
inspection, Capt. John Irvine and his officers, Lieut. Devos and Lieut.
Kleckner, feel very much encouraged. After the inspection a banquet was served
to the members of the company and a few invited guests, with Gen. King as the
guest of honor.
