Mrs. W.J. Marsh is on the sick list.
A.E. Dudley was at Columbia Tuesday.
Otis Slocomb was at Thorp on Tuesday.
Chas. Schroeder went to Milwaukee Tuesday on business.
Lieut. Art Haugen went to St. Paul Tuesday on business.
John Eunson of Wausau visited friends here this week.
Lieut. Austin Peterson went to North Dakota Monday to spend a few days.
Mrs. Furlong returned home to Thorp Monday after a visit with Mr. and Mrs.
Hoepner.
Mrs. Ed. Roethe of Fennimore came yesterday to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Conrad Frantz.
Miss Clara Garbush of Granton spent a couple days here the first of the week
with Miss Gluch.
Geo. Ure has been appointed chairman of the committee for the Boy Scout drive on
Boy Scout Week June 8 to 14th.
Phil. Zimmer was here from Altoona over Sunday to see his brothers. Frank went
back with him to spend a couple days.
Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Eunson, Dale Eunson, Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Romaine drove down
from Loyal on Monday and spent the day.
Mrs. B. Tragsdorf gave a birthday dinner in honor of her son, Walter, last
Saturday, ten of his former schoolmates being present to enjoy the fine dinner
which Mrs. Tragsdorf had prepared for them.
Frank Anderson is here from River Falls for a short visit with relatives. His
wife and daughter, who have been here for several weeks, will return home with
him the latter part of the week.
Miss Edna Tragsdorf is expected home from La Crosse Normal for an over-Sunday
visit with her mother and brother, Walter, whom she has not seen for 3 years.
Miss Tragsdorf will be accompanied by her friend, Miss Paul.
Mrs. B. Dangers was taken to the hospital at Marshfield Monday night by Dr.
Bachmann and her daughter, Mrs. T.E. Brameld. She underwent an operation for a
strangulated hernia that night and is getting along in fine shape with every
prospect for a speedy recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. A. Hauge have received a letter from their son, Henry, stating that
he had re-enlisted in the United States Army and expected soon to be sent to
California. Henry but recently returned from service in France and evidently saw
the wonderful opportunity in the army for the young men who have already had
military experience.
Last Sunday a family reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wegner
and all of the eight children were present. Robert Wegner returned home Friday
from France and his return was made the reason of the reunion. It was a very
enjoyable affair and one which made the Wegner home especially pleasant to the
parents and children.
