Batchelor, Jeannine C. (31 JAN 1935 – 23 JUN 2017)

Jeannine C. Batchelor, 82, Loyal, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, at the Loyal United Methodist Church. Rev. Patsy Roe will officiate and burial will follow in the Loyal Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Jeannine Charleta Hoffman was born on Jan. 31, 1935, in Oconomowoc, the daughter of Henry McKinley and Genevieve Erna (nee Tuffley) Hoffman. She was raised and received her education in Benton, where she graduated from Benton High School in 1953. Jeannine then attended UW-Platteville and earned her college degree in education. She began her teaching career in La Crosse as a kindergarten teacher. On July 19, 1959, Jeannine married the love of her life, James Arthur Batchelor, at the United Methodist Church in Benton. After starting their family, she taught in every district in which they lived, and in 1973, moved to Loyal, where she taught until her retirement. She was a member of the Loyal United Methodist Church, where she was active in the United Methodist Women, and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Jeannine had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family and friends, shopping, playing the slots at the casino, meeting with her friends over morning coffee, interior decorating, and remembering birthdays and anniversaries of all of her friends and acquaintances by sending cards and letters. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Jeannine is survived by her husband, James, of Loyal; one son: Lance (Sheila) Batchelor of Owen; one daughter: Amy (Peter) Lang of West Allis; four grandchildren: Kassondra Batchelor of Green Bay, Kenadi Batchelor of Owen, Jacob Woerle of Butler, Pa., and Olivia Woerle of Indiana, Pa.; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two children: Jana Lynn Batchelor and Bruce James Batchelor.
