Kauth, Leroy R. (14 APR 1935 – 24 JUN 2017)

Leroy R. Kauth, 82, Marshfield, died on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at his home. A memorial service will be held at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 E. Veterans Parkway, Marshfield, at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 30. Rev. Samuel Martin will officiate. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Leroy was born on April 14, 1935, in Milwaukee, to Alfred and Marie (nee Burns) Kauth. He attended Loyal High School, graduating in 1953. On May 3, 1958, he married the former Cairgene Molle at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. Throughout his working years he farmed for 28 years, worked at Roth Manufacturing, owned and operated the Amber Inn in Loyal, and worked at Fiskars. He was a member of the Loyal Chamber of Commerce, one of the founders of the Loyal Trap and Sportsmen’s Club, the Wisconsin Knifemakers Association and Whitetails and Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed spending time with his family participating in hunting, fishing, trap shooting, woodworking and knife-making, which was one of his hobbies for more than 25 years.

Survivors include his wife, Cairgene; five children: Leslie (Diane) Kauth, Joseph (LeAnn) Kauth, Steven (Laura) Kauth, Penny Kauth, and Thomas (Monica) Kauth; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Marie; and his brother, Richard, and sister in-law, Carol. Online condolences may be made at www.hansenschillingfuneralhome.com.
