A1C Lanny Auberg has been awarded the Air Medal for meritorious achievement
while participating in an aerial flight.
The citation read: "During the period of November 14, 1967 to February 10, 1968,
outstanding airmanship and courage were exhibited in the successful
accomplishment of important missions under extremely hazardous condition. The
highly professional efforts of each individual cited contributed materially to
the mission of the United States Air Force in southeast Asia."
Lanny, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Auberg, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.),
enlisted in the Air Force in November of 1965, and is currently serving as an

553 Recon Squadron.
The past eight months he has enjoyed in Thailand and several trips to Bangkok,
as well as Hong Kong. He recently extended his normal 12 months tour of duty
