Dekarske, Robert E. (20 MAY 1938 - 29 JUN 2017)

Robert E. Dekarske, age 79, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at his residence under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.

His memorial service will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marshfield. Friends and family are invited to gather from 9AM until the time of service at the church. A private committal will be held at a later date.

Robert Edward Dekarske was born on May 20, 1938 the son of Albert and Vila (Schoeder) Dekarske. He attended school at Colby. Robert was united in marriage to Marilee Nipko on November 20, 1965 at Colby Methodist Church. They dairy farmed in rural Spencer which was Robert’s favorite past time. After retiring from dairy farming Robert enjoyed hauling cattle for many years.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marshfield. He loved to go to local horse pulls and was a member of the Wisconsin Horse Pulling Association. To Robert a stranger was a friend that he had not met before. He enjoyed anything related to farming and often talked about his years as a dairy farmer. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his canine companion “Squirt.”

Robert will be greatly missed by his five children: Chellen (Keith) Wright of Marshfield, Tom (Kellie) Dekarske of Green Bay, Jayson Dekarske of Spencer, Cherian (Jason) Portz of Marshfield and Dustin (Jessica) Dekarske of Ohio; his 12 grandchildren: Nicholas, Nathan, Zachary, Dylan, Alyssa, Kelsey, Angel, Ryker, Napoli, Jeter and Fallyn; his sister Betty (Don) Wolf of Dorchester; his brother Richard (Nancy) Dekarske of Altoona; 1 step-grandchild Ivan; his brother-in-law’s Jim (Patty) Nipko of Missouri and Richard (Kay) Nipko of Arizona; his sister-in-law Eileen (Grant) Smart of Wausau and his canine companion “Shania.”

He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Vila Dekarske; his step father Salem Erickson and his mother and father-in-law Lawrence and Allegra Nipko.

His arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer.
