Hopperdietzel, Sandra "Sandy" A. (Michalski) (20 SEP 1944 – 26 JUN 2017)
Sandra "Sandy" A. Hopperdietzel, 72, of Athens, passed away on Monday, June 26,
2017 at her home under the care of Hope Hospice and Palliative Care with her
loving family by her side.
Sandy was born on September 20, 1944 in Mosinee to Charles and Carrie (Braunel)
Michalski. She married Grant "Hop" Hopperdietzel on August 17, 1963. Grant
preceded her in death in 2002.
Sandy worked for several years at County Market and Eastbay in Wausau, but her
true passion was buying and selling antiques; she was the owner of
Hopperdietzel's Antiques for over thirty years. Sandy formed many friendships in
the collectibles business, and her family has many fond memories of going to
flea markets, auctions, and antique shows with her. She loved watching the
Antiques Roadshow and attended the Roadshow three times with her daughter.
She also enjoyed fishing, picking mushrooms, traveling, and going to the casino,
but, above all, she loved spending time with her family and her canine
companion, Izzy. Sandy will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, sense of
humor, strong will, and compassionate heart.
Sandy is survived by her children, Scott (Sue) Hopperdietzel of Catawba, Leela
Hopperdietzel of Athens, and her granddaughter Carrie Frahm (Bryan Mullin) of
Athens; brothers, Charles Michalski of Mosinee and Ronald (Irene) Michalski of
Pensacola, FL. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and dear
friends.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents and her
brother Denny. A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday,
July 7, 2017 at Erbach Park in Athens. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until the
time of services all at the park. Burial of cremated remains will take place at
Calvary Cemetery, Athens at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Sandy's family asks that you take the time to call an old
friend or loved one. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr.
Rezazadeh and Dr. Stoffel for the excellent care that they provided for Sandy
over the years. The family would also like to express their gratitude to all of
the wonderful people at Hope Hospice, especially Jennifer, Barb, Cathy, and
Daisy. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home of Athens is in charge of arrangements.

Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet
birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die.
