Peterson, Leanne Irene (Paulson) (3 DEC 1935 – 24 JUN 2017)

Leanne Irene Peterson 81, of Country Gardens, Medford, passed away on June 24, 2017, under the care of Hope Hospice.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday June 29 at11:00 AM, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Medford, with Fr. Phil Juza and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Little Black.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29, at 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at Holy Rosary.

Leanne was born on December 3, 1935, in Little Black, to Raymond and Ann (White) Paulson.
She attended Stetsonville Elementary, Medford High School and St. Joseph’s Nursing School, Marshfield. On October 6, 1959, in Madison, Leanne was married to James Peterson. They were later divorced.

Leanne was employed as a nurse in Madison, Marshfield, and Medford until marriage. After marriage she worked as a nurse at Memorial Hospital in Medford and finished her career as a traveling nurse in Oceanside, CA. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Medford Curling Club, Tee Hi Golf Course, and Past President of the Lochettes.

Leanne is survived by her children, Timothy Peterson of Medford, and Thomas (Becky) Peterson of Des Moines, IA; 5 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; siblings Peter and Sam Paulson, Margret Kyes, Judy Peck, Joan McElligott, Kris (Ron) Zuleger, Jane Paulson, and Cindy Paulson.

She is predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Ann (White) Paulson; and a brother, Kevin “Whitey” Paulson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial in Leanne’s name may be made to Hope Hospice.
