Schmidt, Robbie Joel (26 JAN 1969 - 25 JUN 2017)
Robbie Joel Schmidt, age 48, of Marshfield, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017,
at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Trinity
Lutheran Church in Spencer. Visitation was held at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral
Home (201 S. LaSalle St.) in Spencer from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June
28, 2017, and again one hour prior to service on Thursday at the church. Burial
took place at 2:30 p.m. in the Athens Lutheran Cemetery in Athens.
Robbie was born Jan. 26, 1969, the son of Melvin and Dolores (Ewan) Schmidt in
Medford. He graduated from Nekoosa High School on time a year after being
diagnosed with and treated for brain cancer. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran
Church in Spencer and volunteered with Orphan Grain Train.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trips to the zoo. He especially enjoyed his
special lunches with Doug and Cody. Those that knew Robbie best will miss his
kind heart, compassion, and his positive outlook on life despite the hardships
that he faced in life.
Robbie is lovingly survived by his parents, Melvin and Dolores; and his
siblings, Doug (Lucy) Schmidt, Jay (Sandy) Schmidt and David Schmidt. He is
further survived by two nephews and two nieces; as well as two great- nieces and
a great-nephew. He will truly be missed.
Those wishing to express their sympathy are encouraged to do so to Trinity
Lutheran Church and the Orphan Grain Train.
