Hibbard, Wayne C. “Dog” (17 OCT 1940 - 15 JUN 2017)
Wayne C. “Dog” Hibbard, age 76, of Greenwood, died peacefully on June 15, 2017,
at the Clark County Living and Rehabilitation Center in Owen.
A celebration of life will be held at Parkway Pines Supper Club, N10005 Hwy. 73,
Greenwood, on Sat., July 8, 2017, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
Wayne Clair Hibbard was born Oct. 17, 1940, in Marshfield, to Harlowe and Anita
(Meyer) Hibbard. He graduated from Colby High School in 1958 and then attended
UW-La Crosse.
Wayne served in the U.S. Army from Jan. 23, 1961, to Oct. 29, 1963, being
stationed overseas in Africa and Europe. In 1967, he was united in marriage to
Arlene Shoop in Illinois. They later divorced.
Wayne spent 34 years working for Trans World Airlines, retiring in 1997. He then
worked for the U.S. Postal Service and served as the postmaster in Loyal. Wayne
had many interests, but especially loved spending his time at Mead Lake, was an
avid outdoorsman and just enjoyed being outdoors.
He is survived by two sons, Shane (Sandy) Hibbard of Glen Ellyn, Ill., and Damon
(Amy) Hibbard of Schaumburg, Ill.; five grandchildren, Nathan, Damon, Maggie,
Patrick, and Sydney; one brother-in-law, Ken Schulz of Fla.; nieces and nephews;
other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Marlene Schulz.
